Scale Aviation magazine Volume 159 zeroes in on IJN Navy aircraft (see what I did there *wink*)…

“The Imperial Japanese Navy’s aircraft, including the one-of-a-kind Zero fighter, are extremely popular among modelers both in Japan and abroad. This is why they have been so well-suited to be modeled, and definitive kits of major aircraft are available in each scale.

However, in recent years, new kits by overseas manufacturers have been released one after another, especially in impressive scales such as 1/32 and 1/35, and the model scene of Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft is on the verge of a transformation.

Therefore, the September 2024 issue of “Bimonthly Scale Aviation” focuses on the forefront of Imperial Navy aircraft kits. We will take a closer look at the current state of overseas-made Japanese aircraft kits. On the other hand, the serial writers have thoroughly played around with Japanese aircraft kits from domestic manufacturers, such as Matsumoto Shuhei of “Can’t I Modify It!?” taking on the H8K (Hasegawa New Edition 1/72) and Niiro Tadahiro of “Nanani no Tamashii” taking on the 13-Shima Twin-Engine Land Fighter (Fujimi Modified 1/72). It’s a volume that allows you to enjoy Japanese aircraft to the fullest.”
